Welcome to Locus Therapy. I understand that reaching out for help can be difficult, but you don’t have to be alone. I am a psychotherapist in Maida Vale, Stanmore, Aylesbury, and online who provides a safe, confidential space where you can be heard and work through difficult issues in a way that is comfortable to you.
At times, everyone gets overwhelmed. You may be feeling isolated, depressed, live with anxiety, going through a bereavement, or be struggling with a failed relationship of some kind. You may be facing a crisis or a time in your life where meaning, freedom, self-assertion, even awakening and deeper purpose are demanding of your attention. You might simply not know, but just feel out of sorts, not your usual self.
Whatever you are facing, I adapt my therapeutic approach to suit your situation, creating the space you need to make your journey towards recovery.
Keep reading to learn more about how I provide psychotherapy in Maida Vale, Stanmore, Aylesbury and online, or feel free to give me a call or email.
Get in touch with me and we will book a 20-minute consultation, during which you can discuss what has brought you to seek psychotherapy in Maida Vale, Stanmore, or online and what you wish to get out of it. Share as much or as little as you like; there is no pressure to disclose anything that feels too sensitive. This is also a chance for you to get a sense of me as a therapist and whether you would like to work with me.
We will then have a 50-minute client assessment session, covering a range of questions that help us gain a sense of your life, background, and where your issues stem from. After this first session, we will then arrange the next few sessions at a time convenient for you. Generally, I like to pencil in six weekly meetings, and then treat the sessions as ongoing and for as long as required.
As an indication of what constitutes psychotherapeutic work, six to twelve weeks is short term, six months to a year is longer term. Many clients prefer to just work on an ongoing basis.
As an integrative transpersonal psychotherapist, my approach while being grounded in the humanistic, draws from various psychotherapeutic modalities. This allows for a very personalised encounter that attends primarily to the needs of my clients.
A big part of my approach is learning about your journey and together understanding what works for you. It could be that you simply need a place to be heard and understood. You might want to tackle certain complexes or unmet needs and desires that inhibit you from moving forward in life.
Where appropriate, I can also work with dreams, the inner-child, shadow work , archetypes, visualisations, creative imagination, and art.
I offer psychotherapy in Maida Vale, Stanmore, Aylesbury and online to adults facing a wide range of challenges, and welcome clients of every gender, sexuality, ethnicity, race, religion, background, and disability. A lot of my work involves helping people work through failed relationships, either with family members, partners, or in the professional arena. A number of other specific areas I am qualified to work with include:
Depression
Anxiety
Bereavement
Addiction
Panic attacks
Identity issues
Low self-esteem
Feelings of hopelessness
Trauma
Loneliness
Struggle for meaning
Direction and purpose
Sessions are 50 minutes long and cost £85 (Aylesbury £75). This does not include the initial consultation, which is free of charge. My psychotherapy in Maida Vale is done at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy. In Stanmore at Office on the Hill, and at my residence in Aylesbury. I am a fully accredited member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), as well as a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am currently studying depth psychology with renowned author Thomas Moore.
Prior to qualifying as a psychotherapist, I journeyed and lived as a monk in India, studied theology, spent years in religious community, graduated in critical theory and the study of religion, and as a professional excelled in communications, management, and leadership. Rather than the successes, it has been the mishaps or crises that have been my greatest teachers, the real rites of passage. I have learned much about the courage and compassion that is required to truly face oneself, make peace with one’s suffering, and begin a far more substantive and authentic life. My life has been an incredible journey and I am now dedicated to helping others journey towards recovery, or what might be better termed—discovery.
I am here to give you a safe, non-judgemental environment in which to talk about anything that might be troubling you.
